Huawei Showcases Petal Maps at MWC 2023
Petal Maps strives to reconstruct the real world through digital maps. At MWC, Huawei showcased the 3D real-scene map function of Petal Maps, which uses industry-leading explicit radiance field technology and multi-source image data bundle adjustment technology to systematically optimize the 3D reconstruction of ultra-fine and large-scene maps, implementing real-scene reconstruction rendering and recreating buildings in eye-opening detail.
Petal Maps is capable of rendering roads, buildings, weather effects, and night scenes in great detail, with colors that are true to the real world.
At MWC, Huawei showcased the full-screen lane-level guidance function of Petal Maps, which overhauls the conventional navigation experience. This function expands the view of lane-level guidance to fill the full screen, helping users more easily judge the exact lane their vehicle is in. In addition, the function covers more roads in countries like Malaysia, the Philippines, and Mexico, which, paired with a clearer view, creates a better user experience.
For cycling enthusiasts, Petal Maps can determine the most suitable route according to traffic conditions, so that users can do their bit for the environment.
