Guanxian County, Shandong Province: Innovation Empowers Advanced Development of Steel Plate Industry

The steel plate deep processing industry is a distinctive industry in Guanxian County, Shandong Province. It has an annual steel processing capacity of 16 million tons, ranking second in Shandong Province. Additionally, it produces 3 million tons of traffic engineering products annually, with a sales share of more than 60% of the national market.

In recent years, Guanxian County has been leveraging its own circumstances to actively explore a new flexible talent recruitment model. This model involves attracting talent and scientific research from outside the county while keeping projects and industries local. By forming deep cooperative alliances with universities, research institutes, and industries, the county aims to stimulate innovation and drive industrial advancement through this flexible talent recruitment.

Currently, Guanxian County’s green intelligent manufacturing industry extension of the steel plate has been recognized as a distinctive industrial cluster in Shandong Province, with an annual steel processing capacity of 16 million tons, ranking second province-wide. The steel plate processing enterprises in Guanxian County have led or participated in the compilation of over 60 international, national, industry, and group-level standards, and held more than 90 patents.
