Rushan has entered the thousand-ton class of offshore engineering manufacturing following the successful delivery of a 2,500-ton ethylene glycol processing module – described as a “mobile offshore oil and gas factory” – by Shandong HOMAG Heavy Equipment Co., Ltd. The milestone represents a decisive step forward in the city’s high-end equipment manufacturing sector.

The project, a flagship result of Rushan’s offshore equipment industry upgrade, was completed under tight timelines and exceptional technical complexity. Its spatial concentration is twice that of conventional products, with highly compact piping and equipment layouts. Leveraging years of technical expertise, Shandong HOMAG established a full-process quality control and safety supervision system, completing the module’s one-time installation success after 16 months and approximately 1.4 million labor hours. Testing data confirm that all safety metrics surpass standards set by the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP).

To underpin the sector’s growth, the Rushan Economic Development Zone streamlined oversized logistics through port – Sinotrans cooperation and a “factory-to-ship” service, cutting transport time for major components from days to hours. Complementary upgrades – including a heavy-load transport road, improved internal road networks, and dual-circuit utilities – ensure reliable, continuous production.

The successful delivery of the 2,500-ton core offshore module not only underscores Rushan’s integrated manufacturing capabilities for large marine equipment but also injects new momentum into the regional green, low-carbon transition and international cooperation.
