Agricultural Products in Shandong’s Yanggu Gain Global Acclaim

In recent years, Yanggu County has prioritized high-quality development in agricultural product exports, seizing new opportunities in global trade. With export revenues reaching 1.92 billion yuan, the county has maintained its top position in Liaocheng City for six consecutive years.

At Shandong Fengxiang Co., Ltd. (hereafter “Shandong Fengxiang”), large electronic screens display real-time footage of chicken houses, with temperature, humidity, and air quality metrics visible at a glance.

“In China’s white-feathered broiler farming sector, Shandong Fengxiang has pioneered a historic shift to a ‘company + self-operated modern farms’ model. By leveraging our proprietary smart remote farming management system, we established a new standard for ‘intelligent farming’ in the industry,” explained Zhang Jianning, manager of the Broiler Production Department at the company’s Farming Division. 

Through integrated environmental controls, automated water, electricity and feed supply systems, IoT technologies, and mobile apps, the company has fully digitized, automated, and optimized core farming processes. “Advanced environmental monitoring technologies collect real-time data, which is displayed on central screens and managers’ mobile devices, enabling round-the-clock oversight of poultry conditions.”

As a leading white-feathered chicken exporter, Shandong Fengxiang has also embedded “smart processing” into slaughtering, frying, flash-freezing, and other stages. This not only streamlines production efficiency but also ensures rigorous quality control.

“Shandong Fengxiang built a ‘farm-to-table’ full-chain traceability system spanning six key stages: breeding, feed production, farming, disease prevention, testing, and logistics. We have achieved full oversight of the supply chain and earned certifications under international standards such as BRC, HACCP, and ISO9001,” noted Zhang Muhua, director of Quality Management Division of the company.

To support local exporters, Yanggu established a collaborative platform linking government, banks, guarantors, and businesses. “Business assistance specialists” provide policy guidance, promote key projects, and resolve operational challenges, empowering more domestic agri-processing firms to expand into global markets.
