Binzhou, an industrial hub along Bohai Bay in Shandong Province, is embarking on a new stage of development, powered by a solid real-economy foundation and growing innovation capacity. As the 14th Five-Year Plan concludes successfully, the city has delivered impressive results and outlined a future blueprint centered on enhancing “eight dimensions of quality.”
Binzhou has long adhered to a development strategy of “building the city on industry and strengthening it through the real economy.” Industrial revenue above the designated size has surpassed one trillion yuan, supported by a modern industrial system under the “6638N” cluster framework. This system encompasses high-end aluminum, fine chemicals, intelligent textiles, and new energy and advanced materials. The city’s six leading industrial clusters generate combined revenues of 1.4 trillion yuan. Weiqiao Pioneering Group, a flagship enterprise, ranks 166th on the Fortune Global 500.
Innovation remains the city’s primary growth engine. Binzhou has ranked first in Shandong Province for R&D investment intensity for five consecutive years. High-level platforms such as the Bohai Advanced Technology Research Institute have delivered tangible results, while digital transformation continues to accelerate. The city hosts a large number of provincial- and national-level smart manufacturing demonstration projects, with rapid growth in core sectors of the digital economy. A vibrant market ecosystem has nurtured many national champion manufacturers and specialized SMEs.
Looking ahead, Binzhou is advancing a comprehensive “quality transformation,” aiming for comprehensive progress in the economy, ecology, and public well-being. With deep industrial roots and growing vitality, Binzhou is embracing the world with greater openness, reinforcing the foundations of the real economy and looking forward to sharing opportunities and shaping the future with global partners.
