The 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS 2025) held a diplomatic and representative exchange event on May 28 in Beijing. Piao Xuedong, Director-General of the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, stated that CIFTIS 2025 will extend broad invitations to foreign government agencies, international organizations, and representative enterprises in the field of service trade to exhibit at the event. Each thematic exhibition will feature new technologies, innovative achievements, and practical applications from both Chinese and international companies.
CIFTIS 2025 will take place from September 10 to September 14 at the Shougang Park in Beijing. Starting this year, the fair will be held annually beginning on the second Wednesday of September, with a five-day duration and a fixed venue at Shougang Park. CIFTIS will emphasize synergy and interaction across various activities. Notably, the 2025 Global Service Trade Summit, jointly hosted by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), China’s Ministry of Commerce, and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, is scheduled for the morning of September 10. The summit will explore emerging trends in global service trade and seek to build consensus around collaborative development.
Piao Xuedong also noted that the 2025 edition will invite foreign government bodies and international organizations to host dedicated sessions, promoting development policies, key sectors, and potential cooperation projects. The fair will facilitate exchanges and trade matchmaking between Chinese and international businesses. To support this, trade delegations will be formed from central state-owned enterprises, major financial institutions, and provincial and municipal governments. The fair will ramp up outreach to professional visitors through initiatives like “exhibitor-attendee integration” and “peer referrals.” Services will be tailored to business needs through targeted matchmaking and personalized support.
Australia, the Country of Honor for CIFTIS 2025, will organize its largest-ever service trade delegation to the fair. The delegation will focus on key areas such as the green economy, tourism, and education. Ambassador Dewar emphasized that Australia will fully showcase its strengths and expertise in service trade, and will create a dynamic exhibition space. He expressed Australia’s eagerness to leverage the CIFTIS platform to unlock broader cooperation and investment opportunities with partners around the world.
