From Foothills of Yimeng to Banks of Ili — 112 Linyi Enterprises Set Sights on Almaty

“This exhibition is not only a platform to showcase Chinese manufacturing, but also a vital opportunity for entrepreneurs from both countries to connect, align their needs, and explore new avenues for collaboration,” said Jiang Wei, consul general of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty. Jiang made the remarks at the 2nd China (Linyi)-Kazakhstan International Commodity Exhibition on May 15. The event was co-hosted by the Linyi Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Linyi Trade City Administrative Committee.

Spanning 2,000 square meters, the exhibition showcased a wide range of products from hardware and electrical tools to personal protective equipment and children’s toys, drawing enthusiastic interest from visiting buyers. A total of 112 high-quality local enterprises from Linyi participated in the event.

Among the first-time exhibitors in Kazakhstan was Shandong Weini Yongchi Technology Group Co., Ltd. General Manager Meng Jia arrived in Almaty two days ahead of the fair to survey the local market. She found that most local baby swimming pools are still first-generation models, while her company brought third- and fourth-generation products for the exhibition with significantly better value. After inspecting the product, one buyer immediately expressed interest in becoming a local distributor.

Over 10,000 professional buyers from Kazakhstan and neighboring countries and regions were invited to attend the exhibition, which ran through May 17. Organizers anticipated total foot traffic to exceed 50,000 visits.
