On April 7, at the temperature-controlled warehouse of Huashi Fruit and Vegetable Specialized Cooperative in Hanlu Village, Lanwo Township, Guan County, Shandong Province, boxes of Fengshui pears were being continuously loaded onto forklifts and then neatly arranged inside logistics vehicles. “This year, our orders keep coming in, with a 10% to 20% increase compared to last year,” said Feng Yuehua, general manager of Huashi Fruit and Vegetable Specialized Cooperative in Guan County. The cooperative has been engaged in cross-border e-commerce, exporting pears from Guan County to various destinations such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia. Annually, it exports over 100 containers, totaling more than 4 million tons of pears.

Guan County has improved the ecosystem of cross-border e-commerce industry, deepening cooperation with cross-border e-commerce institutions such as Alibaba, Hua Zhiyun, Shanghai YOPEASE, as well as Qingdao Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, and Shanghai Cooperation Organization Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Comprehensive Service platform, gradually cultivating talents proficient in using internet technologies to promote product sales and providing targeted and in-depth services for enterprises. “We continue to strengthen the ‘cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt’ effect, encouraging traditional foreign trade enterprises to transform into cross-border e-commerce, supporting leading enterprises to drive coordinated development of upstream and downstream supply chains. We also enhance logistics services and layout of overseas warehouses, accelerating the construction of cross-border e-commerce infrastructure,” said Guo Hong’en, secretary of CPC Committee of Guan County’s Investment Promotion Bureau of Commerce.

In the production workshop of Ken Stone Heavy Industry Machinery Co., Ltd. in Dingyuanzhai Town, Guan County, technicians are assembling mini excavators destined for Germany on the production line. To expand overseas markets, the company cooperates with cross-border e-commerce institutions. Through deep cultivation of overseas resources, it successfully exports products to over 100 countries and regions. “Our company expands overseas markets through cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba. Products are promoted through these platforms, greatly increasing export volume,” said Xu Qiuxia, foreign trade manager of Ken Stone Heavy Industry Machinery Co., Ltd. The government’s support for cross-border e-commerce and the innovative models introduced by cross-border e-commerce platforms play a crucial role in fully utilizing the industry’s trade supply chain advantage. This enables enterprises to better meet the needs of foreign customers.

“Guan County has more than 20 enterprises exploring international markets through cross-border e-commerce platforms, exporting products such as pre-painted galvanized steel sheets, galvanized sheets, vital wheat gluten, and excavators to Europe, the Americas, Africa, and elsewhere,” introduced Guo Hong’en. Last year, Guan County’s cross-border e-commerce customs declaration amounted to approximately 1 billion yuan, accounting for 22% of the county’s total import and export volume.
