A delegation of agricultural representatives from Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries visited the Xinfa Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Chiping District, Liaocheng City on May 27. Under the theme “Working Together for Smart and Green Agriculture,” the delegation toured the park’s smart farming and ecological agriculture facilities to seek new opportunities for cooperation and foster mutual growth in the global agricultural sector.
Through video presentations and field visits, the delegates examined the park’s signature projects, including vertical farming, smart greenhouses, research labs, and ecological aquaculture, gaining firsthand insight into how technological innovation is transforming agriculture in Liaocheng.
Designated a national-level modern agricultural industrial park in 2026, Xinfa leverages its parent company’s industrial expertise to reinvest gains into agriculture. By integrating advanced technologies and management practices into farming, the park has cultivated an intelligent, digital, and intensive agricultural ecosystem spanning R&D, cultivation, processing, warehousing, sales, and agritourism.
With a strong focus on advancing agriculture through science and technology, the park has developed several flagship industries with distinctive characteristics. Its advanced vertical soilless strawberry cultivation technology won the Gold Award at the Hangzhou Strawberry Festival Expo, and its fruits have passed international zero-pesticide-residue testing, making them popular at home and abroad.
For cherry cultivation, the park utilizes intelligent temperature control to break seasonal constraints, allowing off-season harvests that fill domestic market gaps, with fruit quality exceeding industry standards. The park has also pioneered a multi-tiered vertical perch aquaculture model, integrating industrial constant-temperature water control and photovoltaic renewable energy to create a green, zero-carbon aquaculture system, significantly boosting farming efficiency.
In addition, the park is home to the province’s first production area-based agricultural research institute, where top scientists advance seed breeding, pesticide residue testing, and cultivation breakthroughs. The institute has cultivated a number of high-quality new fruit and vegetable varieties, laying a solid scientific and technological foundation for high-quality agricultural development. This international exchange fully showcased the distinctive strengths of Chiping’s modern agriculture, establishing a robust platform for technology transfer and industrial cooperation between China and other countries.
