The Opening Ceremony of the International Youth Camp of Yellow River Culture Held in Dongying, China

On April 19, the International Youth Camp of Yellow River Culture was held at the comprehensive demonstrative practice base of the youth in Dongying, China. The event was hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shandong Province, the Department of Education of Shandong and the People's Government of Dongying, and co-organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Dongying and Dongying Sports Culture Tourism Development Group.

Since the People's Government of Dongying signed a "Memorandum of Understanding on Co-building the International Youth Camp of Yellow River Culture" with the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shandong and the Department of Education of Shandong in the World Estuary Cities Conference for Cooperation and Development last November, the three parties worked together with overall planning and coordination and had done a lot of preparatory work for the construction of the said camp. The event has not only kicked off the international research tour of Dongying, but also opened a new chapter in the foreign contacts of local folks, according to News Office of the People's Government of Dongying.

The opening ceremony of the said camp lasted three days. There were a rich variety of activities, such as the hands-on experience of the intangible cultural heritage of Yellow River Culture, a visit to the estuary of the Yellow River, beach comb and seashell collection at the seaside, tent camping and bonfire party. Through the experiential, vivid, diversified and funny research and exchange tour activities, the teenagers from different countries learned about the Yellow River Culture, felt the Yellow River Spirit, which had established an important carrier and platform for them to deepen friendship and mutual understanding and promote their friendly exchanges.
