Yellow River Estuary International Friendly Cities Conference for Dialogue and Exchange Held in Dongying

On May 15, the Yellow River Estuary International Friendly Cities Conference for Dialogue and Exchange was held in Dongying city, Shandong province. The conference was hosted by Dongying Municipal People's Government and the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government, and organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Dongying Municipal People's Government, according to the News Office of Dongying Municipal People's Government. The event was attended by about 100 people, including representatives from domestic and foreign cities, business and trade associations, and related departments and enterprises in Dongying. Chen Bichang, mayor of Dongying, Lin Haibin, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government and Christine MBA NDUTUME, mayor of Libreville, Gabon attended the conference and delivered a speech.

At the event, Chen Bichang, mayor of Dongying, and Christine MBA NDUTUME, mayor of Libreville, signed a "Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of International Friendly Cities Relationship between Dongying and Libreville". Wang Xiufeng, vice mayor of Dongying and Cepparello Giovanna, Councillor of Livorno, Italy, signed a "Letter of Intent on the Establishment of International Friendly Cities Relationship between Dongying and Livorno Province". Libreville of Gabon responded actively and signed to join the "Dongying Initiative on Cooperation and Development of World Estuarine Cities".

Representatives of international friendly cities and estuarine cities such as Dongying of Shandong, Libreville of Gabon, Yingkou of Liaoning Province, Livorno Province of Italy, Niigata of Japan and Bavaria of Germany respectively introduced and promoted their cities and held a working conference, launching an in-depth exchange on the cooperation, exchange and joint development of international friendly cities and world estuarine cities.

During the conference, the participants and guests from home and abroad paid a field visit to the Yellow River Delta National Natural Reserve, the Yellow River Delta Agricultural High-tech Demonstration Zone, and the Yellow River Cultural Museum.

This conference is an important measure taken by Dongying to boost international cooperation and exchange, expand the opening-up and international "circle of friends" and tell the "story of Dongying", which is the extension and deepening version of the World Estuarine Cities Conference for Cooperation and Development. It will promote Dongying and international friendly cities, and the estuarine cities at home and abroad to work together to develop a closer friendly tie, achieve higher inter-connectivity and deepen their cultural exchanges.
