Let’s Enjoy Golf Trip in Japan: Accordia Golf Promoting Its Charms to Korean Golfers through Newly Opened Special Website in Korean

TOKYO, June 3, 2024 /Kyodo JBN/ —

Accordia Golf Co., Ltd. announced the launch of a golf course website in Korean for Korean golfers on May 14. The website, which can also be useful for individual trips, is located within its official “Accordia Web” page. Its goal is to meet the expanding needs of Korean tourists to Japan for golfing.

URL of Special Site:

With the easing of coronavirus-related travel restrictions and the favorable exchange rate of the Japanese yen, Accordia Golf Co., Ltd. has witnessed a surge in golfing by foreign tourists. Many of these visitors, particularly from nearby South Korea, have been drawn by the competitive pricing and the extensive selection of rental clubs available at the company’s golf courses near airports and tourist destinations.

The company has worked to expand its Korean signs within golf courses and has invited golfing on group tours. Considering that most Korean tourists to Japan opt for individual tours, the company opened the particular site to further promote the charms of Japanese golf courses to individual customers, leading to direct booking.

Features of Special Site

-Its design is full of visuals, enabling visitors to imagine happy hours playing golf, sightseeing, etc.

-It lists 21 recommended golf courses conveniently accessed from airports in five areas — Hokkaido, Tokyo (Narita), Kansai, Kyushu, and Okinawa.

-In addition to attracting points of golf courses, it provides distance information to recommended gourmet spots (shopping areas), hot spring spots, and other sightseeing spots in the neighborhood, promoting round trips that include golfing, gourmet, and hot springs.

-The outline page of each golf course on the site has link buttons, a button for “details of the golf course” jumping to the detailed information page, and a “book now” button jumping to the reservation page of each golf course. (Both pages are already available in Korean.)

According to statistics released by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), the number of Korean tourists, the largest nationality of inbound travelers to Japan, from January to April in 2024 (estimates), increased 13.3% from the same period in 2019 and 45.1% from the same period of 2023.

The 2022 JNTO handbook for invitation of inbound travelers to Japan (covering four markets in East Asia) notes that many Korean tourists to Japan prefer short trips by individuals as their feature, with easy online data gathering and booking of destinations boosting demand for personal travel. Also, very cold weather in winter in South Korea and relatively high green fees there have increased demand for golfing overseas. Especially for golf courses in Japan, interest and popularity among Koreans tend to be high because of easy weekend round trips to Japan in vicinity, comfortableness of course facilities, the presence of many hot springs nearby, etc.

The company will continue striving to improve convenience for various golfers in Japan and overseas and contributing to the development of golf and inbound markets.
